The latest version of Mono is 2.2 and its main features are:

I’ve got an opportunity to test out how data mirroring actually works at the record level on an iSeries platform. Here are my findings:

1. If a new record was created in the source system (i.e. tagged with a new Record Relative Number that is unique for a data file) and the record selection criteria defined (if any) were fulfilled, then a new record would be copied to the target system.

2. If an existing record in the source system (i.e. tagged with an existing RRN) was updated and the record selection criteria defined (if any) were still fulfilled, then the corresponding record in the target system would be updated.

3. If an existing record in the source system (i.e. tagged with an existing RRN) was updated but the record selection criteria were no longer fulfilled (selection criterion was “Active indicator equals true” but the Active indicator was updated to false), then the corresponding record in the target system would be deleted.

4. If an existing record in the source system (i.e. tagged with an existing RRN) was deleted, then the corresponding record in the target system would be deleted as well.

DSPSYSVAL QTIME

DSPSYSVAL is used to display a system parameter value and QTIME is the paramether that represents the system time

Below is an example of information returned by entering the above command.

Display System Value

DSPSYSVAL QDATE

DSPSYSVAL is used to display a system parameter value and QDATE is the paramether that represents the system date.

The Server’s Domino Directory Does Not Contain Any Cross Certificates Capable of Authenticating You

I shut down my laptop and restarted it but the same error still occur (some time such problem can be resolved by just restarting your PC) therefore I had to call my service desk team. According to the service desk personnel, the error was due to my Lotus Notes certificate has expired. She also said there should be a popup message informing me about the expiry 3 to 6 months before it actual happened. However I told her I didn’t recall seeing any such message.

Anyway, the service desk personnel helped to raise a service desk ticket to Lotus Notes administrator to renew my Lotus Notes certificate. She assured me that she will rush the administrator to resolve this matter as quickly as is possible. As I’m not in the senior management team, I can only hope that the issue will be resolved quick enough.

After trial and error, I found a way that works for me and its steps are described below.

1. Select all the emails (regardless of read or unread) within the date range desired.
2. Press Delete key to mark the selected emails for deletion.
3. Choose appropriate menu options to show only unread emails.
4. Select all the unread emails.
5. Press Delete key to uncheck the selected emails (unread onesA) for deletion
6. Choose appropriate menu options to show all emails.
7. Randomly check to ensure that unread emails are not marked for deletion.
8. Press F9 key to physically delete the selected emails.

The above method would work for you if most of your emails had been read but not the other way round.

You then can submit the copy objects in one of 2 modes:

• Online - By pressing Enter key, the copy objects will be processed in online mode and your online session hangs until the processing is completed.
• Batch - By pressing function key F19, the copy objects will be submitted to run in batch mode. Your online session is not hangs and you can immediately continue with other tasks.

I’d recommend batch mode for the following situations:

• High number of files that you want to copy
• The files you want to copy are huge in size

The software that came to mind was Notepad. The file has 2,800+ lines and Notepad had no problem opening it within 2-3 seconds.

However, when I tried to replace alias (@) with comma (,) it took ages for Notepad to do so. It took so long that Notepad eventually became not responding. So I had no choice but to end the Notepad session.

After the Notepad session ended, I tried to open the text file again using WordPad. WordPad had no problem opening it within 2-3 seconds. Again I tried to repalce alias (@) with comma (,) but this time it only took WordPad less than 10 seconds to finish replacing all the instances of alias in the file with comma.

After the file has been edited, it could be opened properly in Microsoft Excel with each data field being placed in a column.

Besides the speed of processing, the other main difference between Notepad and WordPad is that:

• Notepad would straightway show the replaced text (alias with comma in this case) as it happened one by one during the processing.
• WordPad would only show the replaced text after the whole file had been processed.

With this recent experience, I’ll serously consider to change the default text editor on my Windows XP from Notepad to WordPad.

• C — Cancel the CL program
• D — Dump the CL program variables and cancel the CL program
• I — Ignore the failing command (and resume at the next command in the program)
• R — Try the failing command again

What a lot of people don’t know is the option R. You can fix the problem and then replying the message with an R to try the failing command again. With that option, you don’t need to resubmit the program again.

• Interactively using STRSQL
• Batch mode using RUNSQLSTM

Both modes support commitment control type *CHG, which allows rollback of changes.

In order to use *CHG commitment control, the files to be changed (inserted, updated, or deleted) have to be journaled first using STRJRNPF. Otherwise error ‘File in Library not valid for operation’ will occur.

Alternatively, if there’s no good reason to journal a file (as additional disk space will be occupied by journal receiver file to store journal entries), you can also run a SQL statement using commitment control *NONE. The drawback is of course the changes can’t be rolled back.
